Michelle Obama has been promoting her new book; “Becoming” – making appearances and giving interviews and the former First Lady had some very nasty things to say about President Trump. Before you get too angry, put yourself in her comfortable shoes for a moment: Trump just spent two years showing the world what a craptastic president her husband was, and I don’t really need to compare the new First Lady to her, do I? Michelle O said, “This may feel like a dark chapter but any story has its highs and its lows. Yes, it’s low but we’ve had lower. We have had more to fear. We have lived through slavery, the Holocaust and segregation. We have always come out at the other end, better and stronger. We are moving in a direction of diversity and inclusion. There will be bumps in the road but change is hard and we are in the throes of that uneasy change.”
So having Trump as President with record low unemployment for blacks is like slavery and the Holocaust? Yep, but she’s not finished. During a Sunday stop on the book tour for her hugely intelligent memoir, I’m sure, the former First Lady ‘jokingly’ compared President Donald Trump‘s administration to the parenting style of a “divorced dad.”. Did former Michelle Obama mean to demean divorced fathers? Sure. In the interview with late-night host Stephen Colbert, she compared America to a teenager and life under President Trump to living with a divorced father.
“Sometimes you spend the weekend with a divorced dad. That feels like fun but then you get sick,” Obama told Colbert. “That is what America is going through. We’re kind of living with divorced dad.” The remark was met with laughter by Colbert, who went on to impersonate Trump giving children keys to a car and pointing them in the direction of the “liquor cabinet.”
Imagine these characters demeaning fathers and divorcees? A couple of a-holes.
Geraldo Rivera called the comment a “rare misstep” after explaining the backlash from the perspective of a divorced father: “She’s equating, she’s reduced (divorced fathers) to a sexist stereotype with a bad parent who gives candy and lets the kids watch too much TV because we have a guilty conscience about the breakup of the marriage.”
A misstep? No, these things are thought out beforehand and designed, Geraldo – you know that, you mustachio’d fool.
Trump lowers everyone’s taxes and liberals cry about it. He grows the economy at a rate that we haven’t seen in a very long time and liberals cry about it. He wants to build a wall to keep criminals out of the country so they stop killing our citizens and liberals cry about it.
Had her husband been eligible and interested in a third term as President, Michelle Obama believed he would have beaten Trump. “People would have voted for him for a third time,” Obama said. “For eight years, the president they saw in their country was Barack Obama. He was somebody who people thought was smart and would do the right thing.”
