You know you’re going to forward the F-Boo*k post to somebody who should have or needs to do this: I mean, what goes better together than waffles and weddings?
The infamous, seemingly everywhere, Atlanta-based restaurant chain “Waffle House,” with over 2,100 locations across 25 states has introduced their newest addition to the Waffle House family. Check out the new Waffle House food truck which can now bring all the waffles and bacon to your corporate events, family reunions and even weddings.
Availability of the truck is so in demand now on the catering event calendar, if you really want waffles at your private event, it’s a good idea to book it far in advance.
Parts Unknown star Anthony Bourdain had never been to a Waffle House until recently. As a part of Charleston, S.C. episode for the last season of his show, Parts Unknown (currently on Netflix), Bourdain was introduced to the golden-lit Southern culinary mecca by chef Sean Brock, who said he used to love going to The Waffle House as a kid because he liked watching the cooks make food in front of him.
Bourdain was so daunted by the menu at first he didn’t know what to order. “I’m looking at my hashbrown, and I’m already confused and enticed,” Bourdain said.
Wedding waffle truck requires a 50% deposit on events over $1000. Currently, the truck is available to serve special events in Georgia but can travel long distance with additional lodging fees for team members. Fees include a one-time payment of $90 for the rental fee, $50 per hour based on mileage to and from the location (including time to set up and break down), and an additional optional 10% for paperware.
5 Pickup Trucks to Put on Your Bucket List
Your favorite menu choices include an All-Star Breakfast which features all your breakfast favorites, a Sirloin Steak Dinner served with garden salads and hashbrowns, and of course, a waffle bar complete with chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, pecans, and whipped cream. What’s better than that?
It appears to have left its mark on Bourdain, as he so eloquently describes The Waffle House in the introduction to the video: “It is indeed marvelous– an irony-free zone where everything is beautiful and nothing hurts; where everybody regardless of race, creed, color or degree of inebriation is welcomed.”
As anyone who has ever been to a Waffle House can tell you, it is marvelous, indeed. And possibly even better with a higher state of inebriation.
The reception is at Chucky Cheese, so don’t eat too much.
